What is an Email Blast?

Email Blast aka: email newsletter, html email newsletter, email marketing blast. Typically, an email blast is a carefully designed and targeted email sent to a large number of recipients containing sale announcements or promotions. These are most generally created and sent through an email marketing newsletter service provider. In many cases these target a specific demographic group in order to engage the customer or potential customer and encourage bulk sales of specialty items that the group has indicated an interest in, either by previous sales or user preference settings and using an opt-in or double opt-in system.

Marketing with Email Blasts

Email blasts or marketing campaigns are highly reliable as a marketing tool as they can be tracked as they capture and generate reports that include open and click rates, soft bounces, unsubscribe requests, as well as new subscribers that were added using links included in a particular email blast, either in the header, footer or body of the message. In regard to affordable marketing, email is by far the most economical. It is also considered by many to be an environmentally sustainable method of communications, since there is little or no need to print them.

What to include in an email blast?

Companies who do use these email blasts to distribute coupons or special offers, in many cases, the customer merely has to enter or mention a code to receive the special price or discount. With the advent and widespread use of smartphones, customers to brick and mortar stores can simply show the checkout person the coupon included in the email blast and receive the free item or discount prices.

Email blasts are also one more way to reach the new generation of highly mobile people and capitalize on instant delivery and receipt wherever and whenever these are sent out- providing another way to encourage sales and increase brand awareness.
