Event Triggered Email

Event Triggered Email

This is a message that is sent to mailing list subscriber based on a particular event’s occurrence. These are commonplace for email marketers. These messages are typically personalized or customized in some way, meeting the direct needs of the recipient, unlike autoresponder emails.

In some cases, the user may have requested to receive emails when certain events happen; for example, a subscriber may want to be notified when there are deals in their area. They may also receive event triggered emails based on signing up for events or making purchases on a site. The marketer may also set up event triggered email based on subscriber information. In many cases, subscribers receive special offers on their birthdays or anniversaries which prompt the user to make transactions with the sender. Of course, these can be set up to be event triggered emails to reach a mailing list when a new post to a blog or when new pages are added to a website.

Many email marketers view event triggered emails as a simple way to increase sales, decrease the time between sales cycles and increase customer loyalty. As contact with mailing list subscribers can be based on a number of actions, often tailored to their individual interests and needs, the sender is more able to effectively meet their individual subscriber needs.
